Daniil Medvedev continued his march at Roland Garros by smashing Miomir Kecmanovic with ease moving on to round four.
The 26-year-old found a different level to his game in overcoming the challenge of Kecmanovic and it's a sign he is closing in on his best form after missing all of clay due to a hernia surgery. He said:
“[It] was a great match against a tough opponent. To be honest, before the match, I would never have thought I could make this score happen on clay courts. Everything I wanted to do today worked. I was serving great. I feel like I was almost putting all the returns in and I made his life tough. Maybe he didn't play his best level, [but] I managed from my side to make his life as tough as possible, and it was enough to win today.”
Asked about his tennis, Medvedev said:
"It's early to say, but I'm progressing. Today was a tough match. I don't think I can play better than that on clay. I served well. There were only two break points where I could do better, [I] could avoid break points, but we are talking about perfection here. Physically I felt well. I did not play a four- or five-setter. We should see this if that happens, but I haven't had any five-setter in the first and second round, so it should be good."
