World number one Carlos Alcaraz is used to being in the news. With him already picking up so much success and triumph in the sport, he is a poplar man in the media pen. However, not all the news surrounding him is truthful with fake reports about Nike planning to debut a signature logo for him at the ATP Finals in Turin.
The Spaniard had been focusing on glory in Italy, as he looked to lift the trophy for the first time in his career. He managed to make it all the way to the final, fending off everyone in his past. There he met an old foe once more: Jannik Sinner. The Italian's immense form on indoor hardcourt surfaces gave him the upper hand, which he expertly utilised in dismantling the six-time Grand Slam champion.
While this was going on, rumours were circulating about a signature logo being created for the star Spaniard. First originating from Spanish media outlet Murcia Plaza in October, there was excitement growing on if he would boast a new logo.
Alcaraz confirmed that these rumours were fake, but there was something in the works. “I’m working on it, but I didn’t say anything about launching the logo at the ATP Finals,” Alcaraz said. “I had a few meetings in Turin. We are going in a good way, on a good path, to launch the logo as soon as possible. All I can say right now is I’m still working on it, but hopefully I’m going to get it soon.”
Alcaraz has been with Nike since 2019, with his most recent contract extension with the sports brand coming 16 months ago. Nike has tied down the 22-year-old for the next 10 years, with a reported contract worth up to $20 million in a lucrative deal. Many players before have had signature logos. This includes Sinner, who is also with Nike. They are in good company, with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal also having bestowed this in their pomp.

Alcaraz set to compete in exhibitions as 2026 campaign closes in

After announcing a disappointing withdrawal from the Davis Cup Finals, Alcaraz can finally put his feet up and relax. He has had a busy season, winning two Grand Slams among the eight titles he collected. His 71 wins was the most of anyone on tour, showcasing the new heights he has reached.
He will be looking to repeat this success but to a higher-level next year. In December, he shall travel to the USA to compete in a series of exhibitions. He will first travel to the Prudential Center in New Jersey on the 7th December to face off against Frances Tiafoe before a day later facing off against the highly touted Joao Fonseca for the maiden time at the LoanDepot Park in Miami. A big part in him featuring is if his hamstring injury gets better beforehand. If not, then he will likely prioritise recovering and getting back to full strength to avoid a period on the sidelines.
He will then start an intense training block on 13th December as he sets to get in peak condition ahead of the 2026 campaign. Just around the corner is the Australian Open, an event he has not had much success at in the past. With a brace of quarter-finals, it is the only major he has yet to get his hands on. Sinner is the reigning two-time champion in Melbourne and will be the favourite to make it three on the spin. However, Alcaraz will have other ideas as their intense rivalry is expected to once again be shown in front of the world.
