Stefanos Tsitsipas has yet to defeat
Carlos Alcaraz on a tennis court and he considers him an obstacle that needs to be solved in order to get where he wants to be.
Alcaraz and Tsitsipas first played at the US Open some time ago with the Spaniard surviving a comeback by the Greek to win it in five sets. The second match was a battle in Barcelona last year which Alcaraz won. This year we saw them battle in Barcelona once more but it was a final though Alcaraz won once again.
The Greek is very complimentary of Alcaraz but considers him an obstacle that he needs to solve if he wants to get where he wants to be:
"This is a long two-week tournament, with many matches before the final. I will give my best to prepare and work on improvements. That's the only way to stay competitive and find a solution for the rival who has beaten me every time so far. Carlos has been an obstacle, and I must work hard to change that. Carlos is a hard worker with enormous speed and flexibility. His enthusiasm is second to none, and I have to analyze what went wrong for me in our previous duels."
