Serbia’s legendary tennis star
Novak Djokovic has revealed
that his remaining goal of 2023 is to secure another win which would seal his
top spot in the ATP rankings this year.
The 36-year-old is often regarded as the greatest player in
the history of men’s singles tennis in the Open era, having won as many as 24
Grand Slam titles. Djokovic has recently been quoted in a report where he talked
in detail about what his objectives are for the remainder of the year.
“I think I need one more victory to secure number one, that
is my main goal, apart from the Davis Cup,” he said. “The next three days are
recovery, I will put the racket aside and spend time with the family to
recharge.
“Then I will go to Turin, where each match will be like a
final of a great tournament. Each meeting has many points, a lot of importance.
I will arrive with good feelings, a lot of confidence. I haven't lost a match
since the Wimbledon final, so I hope to finish the season on a high. Finishing
the year number one & the Davis Cup are my main goals.”
Djokovic has recently
won the
Paris Masters after defeating Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov in the final
in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 6-3 on Sunday.
