Nick Kyrgios is set for a surprise return to tennis in a different role as he is set to attend the 2023
ATP Finals in Turin as a commentator and analyst.
The 2022 Wimbledon runner-up has been absent for the majority of this season due to injury but will be present at the ATP Finals in a different role. Kyrgios missed the Australian Open and French Open before attempting to make a comeback at the Stuttgart Open in June. However, he lost in the first round and proceeded to skip the rest of the season to recover from injury. Nevertheless, the Australian player is set to make a return at the
Ultimate Tennis Showdown event in Seoul, which will take place at the beginning of December. He will then make a comeback on the ATP Tour in 2024.
Kyrgios to take on commentator role
The 28-year-old will also attend the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, which will take place at the Pala Alpitour from November 12-19. The event will feature the Top 8 players from the season, who will battle it out for the prestigious title. This year, the qualified players are Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner, Andrey Rublev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, and Holger Rune.
"Nick Kyrgios, whose electric style of play and straight-to-the-point conversational approach have endeared him to millions of fans around the world, is joining Tennis Channel as an analyst during its coverage of the ATP Finals November 12-19," said Tennis Channel in a press release.
"It will be Kyrgios’ first time working with the network, and it will happen during the most exclusive event in men’s tennis, with just the top-eight singles players and doubles teams qualifying for the event based on points earned during the 2023 season."
