"I think it's going to be nice once the US Open is finished. Start again" - Raducanu ahead of Toronto

Emma Raducanu will have to answer a lot of questions about the US Open in the next few weeks and she is excited about starting over once it finishes.

Raducanu experienced a tremendous rise last year after winning the US Open as a qualifier. The Brit has failed to live up to that hype this year dealing with a lot of injuries and poor play when she was healthy. Despite all of that, Raducanu is quite proud and grateful that she was able to go through that:

"To have success at a young age, obviously you have to be really grateful because I'm doing what I love, but also I've reached success way earlier than I ever really would have thought I did. So I'm pretty proud of myself in that way."

The year has left Raducanu disappointed with the results but it's just a journey. She understands that she has a lot of lessons to learn and it's all part of the process:

"But it has been a tough year. I've definitely gone through and experienced a lot of challenges. To be fair, I've learned a lot from all of it. I think it's going to be nice once the US Open is finished and [I can] carry on from there. Start again."

Raducanu finished off admitting that it will be nice just to have a clean slate after the US Open passes:

"I think it will be nice to take all of the lessons from the last year and just [have] a clean slate."
