"I think it's more to show that tournaments can't do whatever they want" - Rublev on Wimbledon points stripping

Andrey Rublev played his first Roland Garros match today and after the match he was asked about the Wimbledon point stripping.

Rublev anticipated that the question was coming and he had a fairly decent response ready for it. He explained:

"I will be honest. Wimbledon, they break agreement with ATP. That's the first thing. You have a deal you can not break it and they did it."

He then continued:

"I think it's more to show that tournaments can not do whatever they want. It's about teamwork. Tennis is a sport in my opinion where tournaments need to work together. Players need to work together. When we have a toxic relationship like now only the bad things can happen."

Rublev also expressed that the sport needs to stay united because anything else will destroy the sport and it's glory that is over 100 years old.
