Daniil Medvedev will compete in his second Major final on Sunday, facing the eight-time Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic in the quest for the notable title.
Daniil has won 20 matches in a row since the last year's Paris Masters and toppled 12 top-10 rivals during that streak, gathering over 4000 points and entering the top-3 instead of Dominic Thiem. Following his semi-final victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas, Medvedev said that he misses
Roger Federer at this year's Australian Open and that he would love to play against the Swiss on the big stage.
Federer had to skip the Australian Open for the first time since 1999, undergoing two knee surgeries last year and missing all the action after Melbourne in January. The Swiss will return in Doha and Dubai in March, hoping to get back at his best by the summer and chase Wimbledon, Olympic Games and US Open titles.
"It's a pity that Roger is not competing; I would love to play him. I'm not saying anything; I would just love to play him," says Daniil Medvedev.
