The 11th edition of the
Open Sud de France in Montpellier takes place next week, gathering seven top-35 players in the battle for the crown and 250 ATP points.
The home players have won eight out of ten titles in Montpellier so far, allowing Tomas Berdych and Alexander Zverev to steal the show for a moment and bringing things back to normal in the previous three seasons. Multiple champions Gael Monfils and Richard Gasquet are not in the draw, leaving Gilles Simon, Ugo Humbert, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Lucas Pouille as the leading home stars.
Roberto Bautista Agut and
David Goffin are the top seeds, with both trying to reach the form again after early Australian Open exits. The three-time Major champion Andy Murray will play his first ATP match of the season against Egor Gerasimov, with the winner of that one facing
Jannik Sinner or Aljaz Bedene in the second round. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will seek the first victory since the 2019 Davis Cup Finals against Sebastian Korda, while Lucas Pouille enters his first ATP tournament since Shanghai 2019.
