Predictions

Samuel Gill, Head Editor for TennisUpToDate sees Alexander Bublik as the champion in Hong Kong.
Andrey Rublev has often shone in Hong Kong before and I see that he will have a good week here to start the year. Lorenzo Musetti I also see as having a good week and being a potential champion.
Alexander Bublik though for me will be the big winner in Hong Kong. He won multiple titles on multiple surfaces in 2025 on clay, hard and grass and will look to start another year towards the top 10. See him as the champion.
Favourites
*** Alexander Bublik
** Andrey Rublev, Lorenzo Musetti
* Arthur Fils, Karen Khachanov, Lorenzo Sonego
Cristhian Avila, Editor for TennisUpToDate also sees Alexander Bublik as the main favourite for the title alongside Karen Khachanov.
The first week of competition is underway, and the ability to quickly establish a high rhythm will be key, allowing the most experienced players to take advantage. The second seed Bublik is my favorite for the title, along with what Karen Khachanov might achieve in an instance where experience and hierarchy can make a big difference.
In the case of Musetti and Rublev, although they are among the names of highest hierarchy, I believe they will still need a few weeks before being seen in their best form. Possible surprises for the tournament include the Canadian Gabriel Diallo and the local wild card Coleman Wong.
