"I'll be ready...Kygs on the mic" - Nick Kyrgios teases future punditry role following successful stint at Wimbledon

Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has teased a return to doing commentary for the BBC, following his popularity during the network's coverage of the 2024 Wimbledon Championships.
The former World No.13 has been dealing with injuries for over a year, keeping him sidelined for all of the 2024 season. However, Kyrgios has revealed he will be returning to action on the ATP Tour later this year, although he is yet to confirm a date or location.
Kyrgios a hit on commentary during Wimbledon
Despite being unable to compete, Kyrgios has remained connected to the tennis community. The outspoken Aussie star worked with the BBC during Wimbledon, providing commentary during the grass court Grand Slam event. Kyrgios was immensely popular among BBC viewers, with several praising his valuable insight and unique perspective.
Following his successful stint at SW19, Kyrgios has hinted at possible punditry roles in the future. The former Wimbledon runner-up took to social media to thank the various networks along with his fans, telling them there may be more commentary in his future.

During the two-week event, Kyrgios revealed he plans to play doubles later this year. However, he added he has not ruled out future roles on commentary after enjoying his time behind the microphone at the All England Club.
"I'm going to play some doubles later in the year that's for sure," said Kyrgios. "I can't wait to get back out there. Look, tennis is all I've done since I was seven years old, I've watched it, I've played it.
“I feel like I've done a relatively pretty good job [for the BBC]. I've really enjoyed it, I think me and Tim have made a great team. But yeah I'm as motivated as ever. When I was 21 and 22 I was going up against prime Andy Murray, prime Novak, prime Rafa [Nadal], prime [Roger] Federer. If I'm able to get back to where I was in 2022, I feel I've got a good chance to knock on the door for a Slam for sure."
