Spanish tennis sensation Carlos Alcaraz is coming off an impressive title run at the China Open, and the former World No.1 looks to build off his momentum at the ongoing Shanghai Masters, despite dealing with some minor ailments.
The reigning Wimbledon champion defeated rival Jannik Sinner in a breathtaking final in Beijing last Wednesday, rallying from a set down to score another victory over the World No.1. With barely any time to celebrate, the 21-year old began his campaign at the Shanghai Masters on Sunday, defeating China's Yibing Wu in the opening round.

Alcaraz admits to dealing with some minor knocks

Following his straight sets victory over Yibing Wu, Alcaraz stated he felt good physically. However, the four-time Grand Slam champion revealed he was struggling with some minor wear and tear, which is the norm for playing tennis at such a high level.
"Well, I'm feeling great," began Alcaraz. "Honestly, I'm feeling some pain in some part of the body, but what is normal for tennis player, you know, we have to deal with it. I'm feeling great.”
With the possibility of back-to-back titles in Asia on the table, Alcaraz next faces the winner in the All-French battle between veteran Gael Monfils and compatriot Ugo Humbert.
