"I'm very proud to defend the title" says Bjorn Borg after Europe wins 4th Laver Cup in a row

Team Europe convincingly defeated Team World with 14-4 overall in the 2021 Laver Cup defending their title and winning it for the 4th time and Team Captain Bjorn Borg was delighted.

Team Europe fielded a very strong team in the 2021 Laver Cup edition with multiple top 10 players and that decision paid off. The players played some sensational tennis winning all of their singles matches which ultimately proved key. Team World put up a decent fight but they were clearly overmatched by a better team. Team Europe captain Bjorn Borg said:

“I’m very proud, of course, to defend the title … they played great tennis. Of course, Team World, they have the home advantage here but… we have a good relationship, both teams. They’re going to play each other so many times… I love this team. What can you say? It’s been great tennis.”

And they indeed played great tennis leaving the victory never in doubt. It's a 4th consecutive win for Team Europe who to be fair do have generally stronger teams. None of that interests Team World captain who expressed disappointment at the loss but also vowed to come back stronger.

He said:

"Nobody beats John McEnroe 5 times in the Laver Cup."

It's a bold statement which Team World will need to back up in 2022 in London. Long road ahead but we will be with you in 2022. See you there.
