Novak Djokovic looked as good as ever in his match against Ymer today winning in straight sets and advancing to Rolland Garros round 2.
A lot of curiosity always exists when Novak Djokovic is to begin his grand slam campaign and the
Roland Garros this year has been no different. Today was the day that the Serbian stepped onto the court and he didn't disappoint. The first set was impressive by Djokovic as it was bad by Ymer. The Swede won only 7 points in an effort that got him a bagel.
The 2nd set was a bit better but not by much. Initially, it looked like he finally found his footing even braking Djokovic early in the set but then went on to lost 4 straight games losing the st with 6-2. The final set was the best by Ymer as he again found a way to break Djokovic but once again he got himself broken as well. Ultimately he only won three games which were his best mark that day en route to a 6-3 loss of a set.
Djokovic was impressive under the closed roof and he looks even better than he did in Rome last week. It's worth pointing out that
Kevin Anderson made a return to Paris today winning against Djere in a match many thought he would lose. Perhaps its a sign of better things to come and we hope it is.
