Carlos Alcaraz didn't see his 2023
Roland Garros finish on a high note as he lost to Novak Djokovic in the semi-final though that might be the least of his concerns.
It's always a very short turnaround from clay season to grass season especially since Wimbledon and Roland Garros are so close together compared to the other grand slams. The Spaniard isn't a great player on grass but he could be if he actually played on the surface more. He hasn't played that much lately so playing a few events before Wimbledon would do him good due to his unfamiliarity.
He's scheduled to do that as he will play in Queen's which he recently confirmed on social media but he's not fully healthy. According to Spanish media, Alcaraz picked up a wrist injury in his match against Djokovic. The injury is not severe according to his doctor who is the source of the information.
It's not his playing right wrist but rather his left one which he does use during backhands and ball tosses and such. The injury happened during a fall though it's not serious and won't require any more than rest. He's scheduled to undergo some tests on it though it's unclear whether he already did that and what the diagnosis is.
The doctor assured the media that the Wimbledon participation is not in doubt which is important. Seeing him miss the event would be bad but there's very little worry about that. He will be in Queen's to start so fans are hoping that he can stay healthy and prepare well for the 3rd grand slam of the year. So far he hasn't had very much luck at grand slams with an injury keeping him away from Australia and the cramps derailing his participation at the French Open.
