Bjorn Borg has spoken up about the need for tennis media to promote the new generation of players that are rising up right now instead of recycling big three news.
The former player understands the importance of Djokovic, Federer, and Nadal because they have been instrumental in taking the sport forward and to a new level directly inspiring many of these new young players that we have right now. However, he's also fully aware that these new players also need the support from media as they will carry the legacy of the sport forward. They will inspire the new generations of players and they deserved the coverage:
"And then you have the new generation coming up with so
many good players and it's, it's very important for media to promote
this new generation coming up because they are unbelievable."
He further added:
"They play great tennis, but it's important for the
media to promote these players. I mean, you had Federer, Nadal,
Djokovic, Murray is still playing, but it's gonna come a new generation
coming and to see these guys play, it's amazing. And I mean, I'm the
captain of Laver Cup Team Europe, so I see this place, I keep in contact
with the European players and it's a nice thing."
