Australian tennis star
Nick Kyrgios was firing on all cylinders in his third round win over J.J Wolf at the
US Open, displaying some of his best tennis for fans on Friday night.
The former World No.13 required only an hour and 54 minutes to record 6-4 6-2 6-3 win over his opponent, looking as relaxed and composed as he has ever been during this tournament.
Kyrgios saved all seven break points faced, mostly due to his spectacular serve which was a huge weapon during this encounter. The Wimbledon runner-up hit 21 aces, coupled with 36 winners from various parts of the court. Furthermore, the Cranberra native was very successful when he chose to approach the net, winning 80% of those points.
Despite some shining moments from Wolf, there was little the World No.87 could do to stifle the Kyrgios charge. Unable to capitalize on any of his break points, the American was quickly overcome by the superior firepower coming from the 23rd seed.
With another fourth round Grand Slam showing in the waiting, Kyrgios will face the winner between World No.1
Daniil Medvedev and Chinese qualifier Yibing Wu.
