Tennis is in a good place 🫣
Nick Kyrgios is away from the sport right now but he often finds a way to insert himself into the narrative and he did it again by commenting on a quick day at Roland Garros (French Open).
Saturday's schedule on the main court at Roland Garros proved to be a very quick day with Rybakina pulling out of the event, Rune winning in less than two hours and Swiatek taking 50ish minutes for her win. It left viewers quite unsatisfied with the day's programme on the main court, especially considering the ticket prices.
As a tennis fan, you want to see a lot of tennis and while we saw some great tennis we haven't seen a lot of tennis. That's not ideal when you feel a big dent in your wallet. Kyrgios responded to that by stating that tennis is in a good place:
"Tennis is in a good place."
It's an interesting comment alluding towards a rather depleted current field at the event which is partly true but also towards the lack of star power we have in tennis right now.
