Team World has announced two new editions for the Laver Cup 2024. The mega-event will be played from September 20 to 22 in Berlin where Team World and Team Europe will face off to secure the ultimate glory.
As per the latest report, Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo and Australia’s Thanasi Kokkinakis have been included in the Team World as a replacement of Australia’s Alex de Minaur and America’s Tommy Paul. Both players have withdrawn from the competition because of a fitness concern.

On the other hand, Paul was knocked out of the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year in the round of 16 when he lost to world number one Italy’s Jannik Sinner in straight sets with a score of 7-6, 7-6, 6-1.
Cerundolo suffered a surprise exit from the US Open as he lost in the second round to fellow countryman Tomas Martin Etcheverry in a five-set thriller with a score of 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3. Kokkinakis, on the other hand, also lost in the second round of the US Open to Portugal’s Nuno Borges in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 7-5, 7-5.
Former world number one John McEnroe will lead Team World. The team will consist of 2024 US Open runner-up America’s Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, Frances Tiafoe, Alejandro Tabilo, Cerundolo and Kokkinakis. On the other hand, Team World will be led by Sweden’s legendary tennis star Bjorn Borg. He will have the services of a star-studded lineup including the likes of legendary tennis star Spain’s Rafael Nadal, world number two Alexander Zverev, four-time Grand Slam winner Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, three-time Grand Slam runner-up Norway’s Casper Ruud, 2021 US Open winner Russia’s Daniil Medvedev and world number 11 Spain’s Stefanos Tsitsipas.
