"Looking forward to playing with my rivals" says Daniil Medvedev on Laver Cup

Medvedev has enjoyed a very successful North American spring that wrapped up with him winning his maiden grand slam title at the US Open. It's was the crowning moment for Medvedev who established himself as the 2nd best tennis player on the Tour in 2021 and he finally managed to defeat Djokovic. After that match he said:

“You never know if you’re going to achieve it in your career. Again I was always saying, ‘If I don’t, I just want to know that I did my best to do it’… I don’t know how I’m going to feel if I win a second one or third one. That’s my first one, so I’m really happy.”

Big things are waiting for Medvedev in the future and but first, it's the Laver Cup. Medvedev never played at the Laver Cup before and he is very much looking forward to it especially as he will play on the same side of the net with some of his biggest rivals. He said:

“Playing as part of a team is special for us, as we don’t get the chance to do that often. I’m also looking forward to being on the same side of the net for once with some of my biggest rivals on the tour.”
