Novak Djokovic (No. 2) comfortably overcame Lorenzo Musetti (No. 25) with a 6-4, 7-6(2), 6-4 victory, advancing to his 10th final at Wimbledon. The Serbian has 7 titles at the All England Club and will seek his eighth trophy, which would tie him with Roger Federer as the tournament’s most successful champion.
After doubts about his knee surgery a week ago, the 24-time Grand Slam champion has had a brilliant tournament, full of convincing wins. Against Musetti, he was dominant from start to finish and remains in his best form of the season. On Sunday, Nole will seek revenge against Carlos Alcaraz, who took the title in the 2023 final.

Djokovic powers past Musetti

In the first set, both players showed almost identical effectiveness on serve, both landing 64% of their first serves. Musetti won 61% of those points, while Djokovic won 62%. The difference was marked by Djokovic winning nearly 60% of his points on the second serve, while Musetti managed only 30%.
Djokovic had a solid start, attempting to move Musetti from side to side and frequently approaching the net. He secured his first break in the sixth game after some errors from his rival. The Italian did not give up and broke back in the 9th game after saving two set points. However, Djokovic immediately broke back to take the set 6-4.
After taking the lead, Musetti did not seem discouraged. He took an early break in the second set and maintained the lead for a few minutes. In the 6th game, Djokovic broke back, and both were effective on serve, leading to a tie-break. Musetti had to save a set point in the 12th game. The world No. 2 was more effective in the tie-break, taking the set 7-6(2).

With two sets down, it seemed almost over for Musetti. Djokovic started the third set with an early break and clung to his serve to maintain the advantage. Despite some good exchanges from Musetti, he could not secure a break, and Djokovic closed out the match 6-4, 7-6(2), 6-4.
In the Wimbledon final, Djokovic will face Carlos Alcaraz in a rematch of the 2023 final. The Serbian leads their head-to-head 3-2, including their last meeting in the semifinals of the 2023 ATP Finals. Djokovic will aim to increase his Grand Slam record to 25 titles.
