Another seed is out of
Roland Garros as
Marin Cilic ousted
Daniil Medvedev relatively easily in straight sets 6-2 6-3 6-2.
Daniil Medvedev began this match really well winning two service games with ease. And that would be all that he did in this match as he completely fell apart after that. Cilic went on to win four straight games by playing superbly. Cilic served well and hit the forehand and backhand really deep on each side. Medvedev was forced out of position often and he was missing badly.
Not only that, he was missing a lot as Cilic continued playing his game. The Croatian is known to fall apart at times during matches but there was not a chance to do so here because Medvedev was so poor. Six winners and 7 errors in the first. 5 winners and 7 errors in the 2nd set. Meanwhile, Cilic had 23 winners in the first two sets and only 11 winners.
The serve did the damage as well and Cilic simply cruised to a 6-2 finish. A smashing victory for Cilic over Medvedev at the
French Open and it's time for some grass tennis for Medvedev.
