Matteo Berrettini's injury struggles continue with the Italian having to withdraw now from the
Madrid Open with the hope now that he will play on home soil in Rome in a few weeks.
Berrettini had to withdraw from Acapulco in the Quarter-Finals and had to do the same in Monte-Carlo in the Last 16 with an abdominal injury with a grade two oblique tear confirmed.
This continues his injury hell after spending most of the end of last season with niggling injuries. "The intense rehab program has begun with my medical team in Barcelona," he wrote on his Instagram.
"I will do everything I can to be back competing as soon as possible. Unfortunately I will not be able to compete in Madrid. I will keep you all updated when I have more news."
