Daniil Medvedev despite his recent success on the surface is known not to be a fan of clay courts and had a culture shock during his defeat against Aslan Karatsev at the Madrid Open in moving courts.

Usually playing on Manolo Santana, Medvedev was shifted onto the Arantxa Sanchez court today in his defeat.

He complained at one point vociferously after losing the first set about how could not play on a court with such limited space to recover the ball.

He claimed to be disadvantaged in playing Karatsev. Well he will certainly feel aggrieved after a 6-7, 4-6 loss.

Medvedev is complaining to a director that he is on a “small court” He believes he is “disadvantaged” because he cannot do his deep stance on return This is his response to Aslans power 💥 😂
