Medvedev reaches ninth final of the season dispatching Tsitsipas in Shanghai

Daniil Medvedev is into the Shanghai Masters final seeing off Stefanos Tsitsipas in a 7-6, 7-5 extending his Head2Head run to five matches against the Greek.

Medvedev has also extended another streak; he is into a sixth straight tour level final having reached them in Washington, Montreal, Cincinnati, US Open, St. Petersburg and now Shanghai.

The Russian ace has a 28-3 record at tour-level this year including wins over the likes of Fabio Fognini and Cameron Norrie in this tournament and his only defeats have came in title matches. He will now meet another of two players in-form; Alexander Zverev or Matteo Berrettini who face off in the second semi-final.

For Tsitsipas despite losing out, it is another step back into form with him reaching the final in Beijing last week and now he has his ATP Finals place confirmed, he can now look forward to appearing in London.
