Patrick Mouratoglou is a big name in the world of tennis as the Frenchman has coached some of the best tennis players in the world, most notably Serena Williams.
He also runs a state-of-the-art tennis academy in the south of France that has produced many great tennis players such as Coco Gauff and
Stefanos Tsitsipas. In a recent interview, Mouratoglou recalled the time when he saw Tsitsipa for the first time. When he arrived at practice he asked the coaches how did he look and they said:
"He is slow, his energy is insufficient, I do not see him becoming a very high-level player, he plays well but his physique remains average."
Mouratoglou was more potential in him explaining that he replied with:
"Thank you, but you are focusing on what Tsitsipas does not have and not the other way around and what he will also be able to acquire over time."
He also explained that he is much better in matches than in practice because he embraces the pressure of playing in a match. The Greek admitted it as a much in an interview explaining:
"I definitely embrace the pressure and make it a part of me. It's something that I strive for. Instead of becoming my enemy, it becomes my friend. I live and breathe for pressure. And that's when the best of things come"
