Garbine Muguruza finally won a trophy and it was at the
Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships with a great win over Krejcikova.
The opening set was a very tightly contested one that ended in the tiebreak but before it ended in a tiebreak it featured a lot of excitement. Krejcikova broke Muguruza in the first set but she also allowed herself to get broken in the very next game. After that we some a couple of good service breaks before Krejcikova lost her serve again to give Muguruza to 2-4 lead.
The Spaniard was not able to confirm the break as she lost her serve in the next game allowing Krejcikova to make it 4-4 after a strong service game. At 5-6, Muguruza had three set points but failed to use either of them and we needed up in the tiebreak. There Barbora had a 5-3 lead but ultimately lost it 8-6 after some stellar play by Garbine.
The start of the 2nd set brought more trouble for Krejcikvoa who lost her serve in the first game. She would have many chances to pull it back in the next game but Muguruza saved all three break points. Krejcikova would have another chance at 2-3 but once again Garbine held on.
We saw a few more games played but in the end Garbine Muguruza ended the match with another break. The final score was 7-6(6) 6-3 for Muguruza who wins a trophy in Dubai after a stellar run. Congratulations!
