Following the 2019 Davis Cup Finals victory, Spain continues in great performances also at the 2020 ATP Cup. They did not lose a match yet as they faced Japan.
As both teams needed a victory in order to advance, there was a lot to play for. After losing 0 games in the first, and 3 games in the second, Roberto Bautista Agut lost again only 6 games in hos third appearance in Australia. He faced Go Soeda who he defeated 6-2, 6-4.
In the second match, it was world number 1, Rafael Nadal who the Spanish fans supported once again. This time, the Spaniard took on Yoshihito Nishioka. Nadal defeated the player from Japan after more than 2 hours 7-6 and 6-4.
Before the doubles, Spain have already secured the spot in the quarterfinals of the ATP Cup as they lead 2-0 against Japan.
