Nadal first ever tennis player to reach 17 million Instagram followers

Rafael Nadal has become the first tennis player to reach 17 million followers on social media platform Instagram being firmly in the lead.

The Spaniard has enjoyed huge popularity since he arrived on the Tour many years ago. Him and Federer are both the most popular tennis players in the world by far. That is visible in his social media numbers as he has 17,004,587 (and counting) as of now.

He has a similar number of followers on Twitter with 15 million people following him on that platform too. He's currently in Turin where he's playing at the ATP Finals.

His first match at the event was a loss to Taylor Fritz in straight sets.
