Rafael Nadal has only recently returned to the court after a rib stress fracture suffered during Indian Wells after losing in the final to Taylor Fritz but he will make his return at the
Madrid Open this next week.
Nadal was feared a doubt for Roland Garros after having to withdraw from his traditional warm-up in Barcelona but while his status for Rome is unknown, he will play on home soil in Madrid.
"Despite arriving just before and preparation being difficult, I really want to play at home since the opportunities are few. To try to do it in the best possible way. See you in Madrid," he wrote on social media translated from Spanish.
He also joins Novak Djokovic in the same tournament for the first time in a while with their rivalry set to resume with the Serbian ace given the green light to play in the coming months.
