After it being confirmed yesterday that there was a '90% chance' that Rafael Nadal would not play at Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell next week (17-23 April), he has now confirmed his withdrawal.
Nadal took to his Instagram to confirm that he has withdrawn and 'not ready' to return still in a concerning sign for fans of the Spaniard.
Since his injury at the Australian Open, he has pulled out of the Sunshine Double, as well as Monte-Carlo and now Barcelona.
The hope will now be that he plays in Madrid and Rome ahead of Roland Garros. "Barcelona is a special event for me, it's my adoptive club and playing at home is always special. I still feel not ready and I'm recovering to come back," he said.
