Rafael Nadal is currently starting his BNP Paribas Open Indian Wells campaign facing Sebastian Korda but one tournament he won't appear in is the Miami Open.

Next up on the calendar, Nadal was one of the top names and is currently on a 15-0 winning streak after winning the Australian Open at the start of the year.

With the clay court season in the periphery and no known injuries at this time, it is seemingly a precautionary measure as preparation will ramp up for Roland Garros.

He hasn't played the tournament since losing 2017 final to Roger Federer and it is a tournament which will also be without Novak Djokovic who has been refused access to the States under current vaccine protocols.

Rafael Nadal has pulled out of the Miami Open. Nadal practiced on Stadium 1 here at Indian Wells earlier this morning, all seems well to continue this tournament apace after starting his year with a 15-0 winning streak.
