Carlos Alcaraz has already put together a rather impressive career and he's only 20 which means that even more great achievements are coming in the future.
The Spaniard will contest his maiden final on the grass on Sunday against Alex de Minaur. He's never been considered a huge talent on grass despite having the game to do well. Like many players, he struggles with the surface mostly due to being unfamiliar with it. There aren't many grass courts in Spain and he didn't really practice on them too much either.
His transformation on the grass in a rather short time was fascinating to watch. He arrived in London very unsure of how to play on the surface and while he's yet to learn all the intricacies of the surface, Alcaraz looks miles more confident on it already. He'll have a chance of winning the trophy and should he do that he'll achieve another record.
5th youngest to win on all three surfaces
Alcaraz has won trophies on hard and clay before but never on grass. If he beats de Minaur on Sunday he'll get his first grass trophy and by doing that he'll become the 5th youngest to win a trophy on all three major surfaces. The youngest ever was Bjorn Borg who was 17 when he won on all surfaces.
After him, the youngest was Mats Wilander who was 19 as was Hewitt who was the 3rd youngest. Jimmy Connors also did it at 19 thou he was older than both Hewitt and Wilander when he did it and now Alcaraz has the chance of getting it done at 20. That's a pretty elite company to keep considering that he's ahead of players like Djokovic, Nadal and Federer who are some of the biggest talents the world of tennis has ever seen.
