Nick Kyrgios has played only two ATP tournaments since the start of the pandemic in March last year, never leaving Australia and not carrying much about tennis or his ranking.
After bad words towards Novak Djokovic in recent months, Nick found time to blast his compatriot Bernard Tomic on Instagram. Per Kyrgios, someone compared him with Tomic, which he described as an insult. Tomic and Kyrgios were good friends in the past before the more experienced Aussie started to lose ground and ranking positions, drifting away from the ATP Tour while Nick went towards the top.
Bernard has been ranked outside the top-100 since August 2019. Tomic has played way below his best, but he still made the headlines at the beginning of the current season thanks to his girlfriend Vanessa Sierra, who didn't like the Melbourne bubble conditions.
Kyrgios blasted their behavior, and he mentioned his countryman in a recent Instagram post. Nick stated that it is an insult for him when someone compares him with Tomic. Speaking about things that separate them, Nick named his foundation and everything he did to help others, with nothing similar coming from Tomic. Also, he reminded that he has beaten Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, asking if Tomic did anything like that.
"I've never felt more insulted. I got compared with Bernard Tomic today, and I've never felt more insulted. Does he have a foundation or accomplishments? Did he raise money for the bushfires? It's disgusting, man. Do your research. Also, I ain't f---ing with anyone who does OnlyFans. Oh, and by accomplishments - I beat the big 4," Nick Kyrgios wrote on Instagram.
