Australia’s tennis star
Nick Kyrgios has stated that he is
feeling great and is taking one day at a time in his recovery from knee injuries.
The 28-year-old has been out of action for more than a year
after suffering a knee injury back in 2022. It was because of this reason, he ended
up missing all Grand Slams in 2023. He also missed the first major tournament in
2024 as well.
Kyrgios was recently quoted in a report where he stated that
he is feeling ‘great’ and that he is taking it ‘one day at a time’. “I’m
feeling great but taking it one day at a time,” he said. “It was a pretty
significant surgery so we will see how it goes.”
Kyrgios was recently named in a UTS event in New York later
this year where five top players will take part in a competition where the
prize money will be $1 million.
The Canberra-born also talked about the event which
according to him is the ‘future’ of tennis and that he is looking forward to
enjoying the ‘music and culture’ in New York.
“UTS is the future for sure,” he said. “Unbelievable
experience in LA. Patrick (Mouratoglou) has it down. For me it’s the energy,
the music and the culture,” he said. “That brings out the best in me. It’s much
more like basketball than tennis. I always love playing in the US and feel
really comfortable there.”
