Tennis remains one of the most interesting individual sports,
largely because of how it involves so many technicalities which the fans enjoy
as well.
A one-handed backhand is one such technical skill which is
pleasing for the fans to see. Over the years, there have been many great
players who used to produce delightful backhands.
However, for the first time ever, there will be no player
with a one-handed backhand will be in the top 10 in the ATP rankings.
That is after Bulgaria’s tennis star
Grigor Dimitrov was knocked
out from the ongoing ABN Amro Open after losing in the semifinal to Australia’s
Alex de Minaur in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 6-3.
The 32-year-old would’ve only been able to keep his spot in the
top-10 had he won the competition but that did not prove to be the case.
Greece’s tennis star
Stefanos Tsitsipas, who is one of the
players who still use such a skill to mesmerize the fans, will also go out of
the top 10 once the new rankings are announced.
The 25-year-old has had a difficult time on the court in the
recent past. In the recently concluded first Grand Slam of the year — the Australian
Open — he was knocked out of the competition after losing in the second round
to America’s Taylor Fritz with a score of 7-6, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3.
