Casper Ruud opted for a unique approach for the 2023 season as he will have his 'off-season' after the Australian Open as opposed to before the event.
Most players have their off time when the season concludes with the final events in November. Ruud opted for a different approach as he continued playing tennis by joining Nadal on his exhibition Tour in South America. He's back already to playing and taking part in exhibition matches in the Middle East.
He'll continue to play up until the Australian Open and take his off-season after that event:
"When I accepted to do the exhibition matches with Rafael Nadal, we decided to just keep going and then stop and work on my tennis after the Australian Open."
It's quite a unique approach and could actually work out in his favour as he should be in better form and rhythm by the time the Australian Open rolls around. The weeks after it is not that eventually and he can safely take off until the Sunshine Double in March.
