Leading the list of absentees is Spain's Rafael Nadal, who withdrew from this year's US Open due to injury and has been recuperating ever since. Compatriot Carlos Alcaraz is also missing from the entry list, as the Spaniard tested positive for Covid-19 a few days ago.
The American trio of Reilly Opelka, Frances Tiafoe and Sebastian Korda have not been confirmed for the event, along with Russian Karen Khachanov and Australians Nick Kyrgios and John Millman.
