The ATP Tour recently created a superb comedy mockumentary type video which saw
Novak Djokovic and
Andy Murray as the stars. Titled 'The Tour: A Reality Show', players from the ATP Tour had the premise that tennis is not real and that everything in the sport is scripted including their tennis player names as they are actually called Bert Critchley (Djokovic) and Fraser McKnight (Murray).
But superbly they have also had their own social media accounts created to go along with the illusion of the skit and to take the joke to another level.
Murray in particular got superb reaction on social media with users saying that it was a role he was born to play as he gave a hilarious take on tennis as his character that suited the Brit down to the ground.
"I think that's what people don't realize, it's all just scripted like the players and the matches, it's all just kind of made up. It's a bit like wrestling or reality TV shows, none of it's real. We get our storylines at the start of the year and we try to make everything look natural. Let's face it, people are stupid so they'll buy anything."
Others involved in the video included Casper Ruud as Thomas Johnson, Gael Monfils as Peter Arthur and Grigor Dimitrov as Richard Roberts. All of whom have had social media accounts made. Similar to The Office, it has also been thrown around that it is very much a Break Point rip off but in a sitcom style with directors at the side of the court choreographing the matches in hilarious fashion.
