Novak Djokovic will not play the Madrid Open. The Serb has once again withdrawn from the Madrid tournament, thus shortening his clay court season to the maximum before Roland Garros.
Nole played the Monte Carlo Masters and is currently resting. It might have been thought that he was going to play in Madrid, but the Serb will only play Rome before facing the French Open 2024.
Djokovic is clear that at this stage of his career he does not need so many minutes on court before the Grand Slams to be able to arrive rested and with possibilities of being able to overcome much younger rivals with much more physical background than him;
CHANGE IN TOP SEEDS
This means that the number 1 seed in Madrid will be Jannik Sinner. The number 2 will be Carlos Alcaraz if he ends up playing (remember that today he is going to test in the Caja Magica to see the evolution of his arm after the injury that has already left him out of Monte Carlo and Barcelona).
