While he had issues for hindrance against Jannik Sinner,
Novak Djokovic had no problem in winning through to a ninth
Wimbledon final which he will play on Sunday against either Carlos Alcaraz or Daniil Medvedev.
Djokovic sealed it 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(4) and it is his 35th Grand Slam singles final, more than any man or woman ever in history and he will go for a record equalling eighth title this weekend.
It was an ideal start for Djokovic who took the opening set 6-3. His serve to seal it was too swift for Sinner who could barely get a racquet on it as he put a return into the net to hand him the opener.
But then came the hindrance to begin the second set as he was given a warning by the umpire. It seemed to do not a lot though for his resolve as he stayed composed and got to advantage with an emphatic smash before Sinner netted again as Djokovic made it 3-1.
The Italian held serve though and saved two break points with a superb ace to make it 4-3 but despite serving to save the set, Djokovic had the serve with the break advantage to claim it 6-4 and hit an ace for a two-set lead and one foot in the final.
Sinner did show some fight in the last set as he went 5-4 up and on the verge of the set but Djokovic mocked the crowd with a crying face as he made it 5-5 and it was soon sent to a tiebreak.
Sinner went 2-0 and 3-1 up but started to make mistakes and Djokovic found himself 4-3 and 6-4 up before bringing up match points which he claimed as Sinner netted again.
