Novak Djokovic will in fact play at the Qatar Open in Doha next week after making a miraculous recovery from the injury that looked set to keep him out potentially until the clay court season. The tournament begins on February 17.

The world's best tennis player of the modern era returned to Belgrade last week from Melbourne where he underwent necessary examinations after suffering a muscle rupture in his hamstring in the Quarter-Finals of the Australian Open.

He received all the necessary care and treatment back home but it was uncertain whether he would be in Qatar as he aims to start his road towards Roland Garros as well as the Sunshine Double in Indian Wells and Miami.

While he could easily withdraw, he is set at the very least to head to Doha. He has not yet started training which could yet be a sticking point. But as per Sportal, he is set to leave for Doha early in order to help recover quickly. He has won the title in 2016 and 2017.

It is still uncertain whether Andy Murray will travel with him to continue their cooperation. With his recent injury travails, it is uncertain what the future holds with that. Albeit Miljan Amanović will not travel to Doha, but Claudio Cimalja will be with Nole who are his two physiotherapists and well known figures in his camp.

As per the same article with Sportal, Djokovic admits the end is coming at some point.

"Dad has been trying to retire me for a while. No, really. But he hasn't pressured me. He respects my decision to continue. And of course he understands why I want to continue, but of course he asks me like, "What else do you want to do?"

"Publicly and privately, many people have told me that they think it's best for me to leave when I'm at my peak, which I understand, don't get me wrong, I understand. But if I'm still physically fit and I feel like I can beat the best players at a Grand Slam – why would I want to stop now?"
