Former tennis player Mark Petchey loved the clash between Tsitsipas and Medvedev at the ATP Finals praising the duo on Twitter.
It was quite a crazy match between the two players who are not fondest of one another. They had some verbal clashes in the past and while respectable now, they're likely never close friends. Some of that was visible yesterday during a crazy match that had a tiebreak with 24 points.
Medvedev won that one and then the Russian choked away a 5-3 lead in the final set to lose the match in the tiebreak completely folding and losing 1-7. Petchey praised both players thanking them for a match that had everything:
"Uncertainty in sport is everything. I want it messy, I want it emotional, I want it to mean so much your heart rate max’s out. I want entertainment and skill. We had everything tonight. Thanks Stefanos Tsitsipas and Daniil Medvedev"
