An ATP 1000 Masters event, the Shanghai Masters had been on hiatus since 2019. It returned last year with Hubert Hurkacz sealing the title. Albeit the Pole will not return this time due to injury. It is the penultimate ATP 1000 tournament of the season and always a star studded affair testing the metal of the top names in China.
Djokovic, Alcaraz to headline star-studded event
World No.1 Novak Djokovic is scheduled to compete at the event for the first time in five years alongside Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz as well as World No.1 Jannik Sinner. Several top talents will also be participating, including Medvedev, Holger Rune and Stefanos Tsitsipas.
