A whopping sum of money is set to be on the line in the MGM Slam exhibition taking place on March 1, 2026, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Eight very respected players on the ATP Tour will be locking horns as they fight for an eye-watering £1 million on offer.
A unique exhibition, it will be very fast-paced and quite possibly over in a flash. The eight players competing will be pitched together in a knockout format. The person who gets over the line in the final gets the grand prize, with motivation not an issue with the lucrative prize pot. The matches will not feature sets. It will be decided by a sole 10-point tiebreaker, putting pressure on the players not to mess up. With no time to recover from a bad start, it is massively important they get out on a positive note.
The tournament has been hosted since 2022, becoming a regular on the exhibition calendar. Many top players have featured with some intriguing matchups over the last few years. This included a match between Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal broadcasted to the world on Netflix. Aryna Sabalenka and Naomi Osaka have competed for the rewards on offer in Las Vegas as well last year, with the current number one taking the accolades.
The event will be hoping to avoid similar consequences to last year when many of the big players who had meant to compete pulled out late on, leading to the
competition to be postponed. From four-time Grand Slam champion Jannik Sinner being banned to injuries and food poisoning being a factor, the organisers will be dearly hoping for a more stress-free run-in to the tournament.
Who is competing for the jackpot in LA?
The highest ranked player set to compete is
Taylor Fritz. He withdrew late last year due to an abdominal injury. However, this has seemed to get him more motivated to get involved. The world number six has continued his progress from a fantastic 2024 where he reached the US Open and ATP Finals final. While his campaign in Turin this year saw him slide a few places down the pecking order, he is a very dangerous player and one to avoid especially in this big format with his big serve.
Talking of big serves, former Wimbledon finalist
Nick Kyrgios is set to continue his return to full-time action by taking part. The Australian is currently competing in a number of other
exhibitions around the world, with the highlight being the upcoming Battle of the Sexes against Sabalenka on December 28 in Dubai. He will be hoping to keep his injury troubles down and be fit enough to compete in another luxurious event.
Three-time Grand Slam finalist
Casper Ruud is back for more. He replaced the suspended Sinner in last year's event but could not compete due to the chaos prior to the start. Other big European names will also be making the trip over.
Lorenzo Musetti has become a staple in the top 10 and is always a dangerous player to face off against, while Gael Monfils will lap up the applause in LA as he includes this event in his farewell tour.
The American crowd will not only have Fritz to cheer for, but fellow countryman Tommy Paul. After a great start to 2025, injuries have kept him sidelined and halted his fabulous progress up the ladder. Someone who made a lot of progress was Alexander Bublik. Only Alcaraz and Sinner won more titles than the Kazakh in 2025, which saw him clamber to the cusp of debuting in the top 10. To wrap up the field, 19-year-old Joao Fonseca is set to stun the crowd. The Brazilian is always popular wherever he goes, regularly taking along a number of Brazilian fans with him.
The tournament will also prove great preparation for the maiden Masters 1000 competition of the year. The Indian Wells Open will be played between March 1-15, making it a close call for the players to make both events.
