After all the speculation before the US Open mixed doubles event, Carlos Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu are set to step onto the court together once more in the Miami Invitational on 8th December.
The pair will be joined by Amanda Anisimova and Joao Fonseca, with two singles ties played before the climaxing doubles match between them. This means that Alcaraz and Fonseca will face-off for the first time, in a hugely anticipated clash for the future.

Alcaraz and Raducanu teaming up once more

When the revamped US Open mixed doubles event was announced, it caused up a stir, receiving a mix of controversial and bemused comments and statements. Along with that, it brought up a lot of attention, with the best singles players in the world stepping out of their comfort zone and teaming up to produce fireworks on the court.
In the end, the only participants who were doubles players won the event - Italian duo Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori reclaimed the title they won the previous year.
When the teams were confirmed, the one which caught the most eyes was the former World number two Alcaraz teaming up with 2021 US Open champion Raducanu, who has enjoyed a rejuvenating campaign. The pair could not make great strides into the tournament, losing out in the first round to Jack Draper and Jessica Pegula 4-2, 4-2.
That will not be the last time the pair are seen on the same side of the court, as they venture to Miami to avenge their defeat. The Brit could not contain her excitement when sharing a message about the news. “This event will be electric, and I’m excited to bring my best to Miami alongside three incredible stars of the game,” she said.
Alcaraz is also looking forward to the event. He has previous positive memories of Miami, having won his first Masters 1000 title there back in 2022, defeating Casper Ruud in straight sets, before going on to triumph in the US Open a few months later. “I love playing in Miami—the fans always bring incredible energy,” Alcaraz said. “I’m thrilled to take the court for this first-ever event at loanDepot park, with João, Amanda, and Emma."

This event will surely be at the back of the pair's mind for now, as they look to make progress in the competitions they are currently competing in. Alcaraz, now back up to number one in the world, is looking to overturn the disappointing Laver Cup defeat to Team World with a first title in Tokyo, in his maiden campaign in the Japan Open.
Early in his match against Argentinian Sebastian Baez, he went to the ground with an ankle injury. Fans had their hearts in their mouths as the pain-stricken Spaniard bravely fought on, coming out on top against the world number 41 6-4, 6-2.
Ignoring advice from his team, Alcaraz powered through his lat-16 clash against Zizou Bergs. The Belgian broke the serve early on but would be on the end of a double-break from Alcaraz, who looked like he was racing to a comfortable one-set advantage. Bergs made this slightly more complicated, breaking to put the match back on serve, but the 22-year-old broke instantly back to go sneak ahead. He would once again achieve a break advantage before the pair traded breaks. The six-time Grand Slam winner then saw the match out, going into the quarter-finals to face American Brandon Nakashima.
While Alcaraz was representing Team Europe in San Francisco, Raducanu was playing in the Korea Open. She overcame Jaqueline Cristian before being defeated by two-time Grand Slam champion Barbora Krejcikova. Now in in Beijing, she has got her China Open off to the perfect start, defeating qualifier Cristina Busca. A tricky tie against Pegula awaits the world number 32.
