Rafael Nadal battles past native Corentin Moutet at Roland Garros

Rafael Nadal proved very comfortable during the night session at Roland Garros battling past native Corentin Moutet 6-3 6-1 6-4.

Nadal opened the match with an early break and it kind of snowballed from there. Moutet enjoyed his time on the court playing in front of full stands against a legend but he quickly got annoyed by Nadal and his incredible tennis. He was angry at times, he protested he even laughed a few times in disbelief. Nothing changed Nadal as he cruised to a 6-3 finish.

The 2nd set was even more impressive from Nadal as he completely took over. He was warmed up and doubled the number of winners he had in set number one to smash Moutet 6-1 who really tried but he simply could not hold off Nadal. The final set opened with Moutet actually taking an early break 2-0 but it did not last too much.

Nadal was able to battle back and eventually take another break from his opponent setting himself up for a serve for the match. He tried but a moment of inspiration got Moutet back into the match by breaking Nadal when he served for the match. Still, Nadal is Nadal and he did what he always does, gets back up after getting hit. He broke Moutet one more time to book a 3rd round at the French Open.
