Rafael Nadal reportedly set to become a father for a second time

Rafael Nadal's wife Maria Francisca Perello is reportedly pregnant as the legendary Spaniard gears up to become a father for a second time later this year months after leaving the sport.

The couple is as per Semana expecting their second child together in what was exclusive news in the magazine but one that likely was set to become public as Nadal and Perello had reportedly told close family and friends.

Nadal brought the curtain down on his illustrious career in November 2024 competing at the Davis Cup Finals in front of his home crowd in Malaga. His parents, wife and his 2-year-old son were present at the tournament in what was the ultimate ending.

Now less than five months later, Nadal who is still loosely involved in tennis solely due to his Academy is set to take his next step personally as he adapts to post tennis life. According to the magazine reports, the 22-time major champion's partner was spotted with a baby bump while running errands in Mallorca.

It was also reported that they had shared the news with their family and close friends. They recently were seen together at the Rafa Nadal Foundation Awards in March. The couple have been together since 2005 and got married after 14 years of dating in 2019. Three years later they welcomed Rafa Jr into the world.

His son accompanied him during his final season and was often a talking point surrounding his farewell and also giving him a new perspective on life.
