From May 25 to June 9, 2024, the French Open will take place at Roland Garros with Novak Djokovic aiming to seal a fourth title in Paris and back-to-back crowns leading the field this next fortnight. The draw is now complete and the fate set of the top names.
Djokovic opens up the tournament against Pierre-Hugues Herbert with a second round against Roberto Carballes Baena or Constant Lestienne. Jannik Sinner who is second seed faces Christopher Eubanks with a second round against Richard Gasquet or Borna Coric. Stan Wawrinka or Andy Murray who sit in the same quarter also lurk.
But it is in fact the match between Alexander Zverev and Rafael Nadal that will catch the eye. The former has just won his first title since his horrific ankle injury in the 2022 semi-final against the Spaniard when he was in a winning position. He could now end the career on the clay aside from the Olympic Games of the great Spaniard.
Carlos Alcaraz will face a qualifier then likely Jack Draper in the second round who also faces a qualifier. Casper Ruud will open against Jakub Mensik and could face Alejandro Davidovich Fokina if he gets through that tie. Daniil Medvedev faces Dominik Koepfer. Miomir Kecmanovic a likely second round opponent.
Andrey Rublev opens against Taro Daniel. Hubert Hurkacz will face a qualifier then either Nicolas Moreno de Alboran or Brandon Nakashima. Taylor Fritz faces Federico Coria. Alex de Minaur will open against Geneva standout so far Alex Michelsen. Stefanos Tsitsipas will face Marton Fucsovics to begin his campaign.
Grigor Dimitrov faces Aleksandar Kovacevic. Nicolas Jarry fresh off his Rome run sits in Dimitrov's section and faces Corentin Moutet.
