The documentary about
Boris Becker done by Apple will be released on April 7th as confirmed by the company that did the two-part series about the former player.
Becker's name has never been far from the media because his lifestyle sort of warranted it. With his recent prison sentence and release, Becker is once again a hot talking point with the German trying to leverage that notoriety into several things. A book is being prepared about his time in prison with a two-part documentary series by Apple also done.
It's set to premier on April 7th with the name of it: "Boom! Boom: The World vs. Boris Becker."
During a Berlin event to promote the documentary Becker said that he's proud of himself all things considered:
“I’m the last person to complain about my life. I’m 55
years old and I’m very proud of the things that I’ve done. But I’ve made
mistakes. It is very difficult to win Wimbledon at age 17. You have to
be a bit crazy. Borderline. Crossing the line. Doing things that nobody
has done before in order to achieve something nobody has achieved
before."
He added:
"To have that mindset and live a normal lifestyle is
almost impossible. And when the going gets tough I usually get better,
I’m not afraid of a tie break, I’m not afraid of a final. But in real
life that is a problem sometimes. I’ve paid a heavy price for some of
the things I did in my past. Today I’m a bit better for it. Hopefully a
bit smarter. Maybe a bit more humble.”
